GVCW Visa Application Centers for Greece in Johannesburg, in Cape Tow and in Durban are operational every day accepting applicants upon appointment or by walk-ins strictly on the discretion of the VAC Manager. You can book your appointment here.
Kindly be advised that the entry to Greece is allowed for permanent residents of South Africa, therefore the VACs for Greece accept visa applications, provided that no further notice on the extension of the entry ban to Greece be issued in the meantime. All individuals who wish to travel to Greece must consult the following link travel.gov.gr and follow the required rules.
Our VACs adhere to the highest standards of health and safety based on the recommendations of the World Health Organization and local health authorities: to this end, you will need to self-disclose COVID-19 symptoms, to undergo temperature screening at the entrance of the VAC using non-contact equipment, to wear appropriate mask and be checked contactless by the security service of the VAC. In case you have any symptoms of COVID-19, please, DO NOT visit our VAC. Applicants without mask and applicants with a temperature above 37 degrees Celsius will not be allowed to enter the premises. As the VAC cannot be crowded, you may be asked to wait outside the VAC. While waiting inside, please keep social distance of 2 meters vis-à-vis others. Please note that your appointment slot will be rescheduled to a later date in case you have any COVID-19 symptoms. We suggest you prepare your application and all necessary documents in advance (click here for more information) to avoid waiting time at the VAC.
Protecting the health of the applicants and our employees during these testing times of the pandemic is of utmost importance. We are following the recommendations of the Health and Governmental authorities and have put in place best practices to minimize the possible exposure of applicants and employees to the coronavirus. In order to avoid a return to the VAC, the passport return for applicants is only via the courier service at an additional cost that will be kept to the minimum.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Kindly be informed that visa applications may take up to 15 calendar days to process.
Important note: Kindly be informed that as a rule applicants must apply for a Schengen visa to Greece at the Visa Application Center based on their residence address. Applicants that reside in Western Cape, Northern Cape and Eastern Cape must apply at the Greece Visa Application Center in Cape Town.
We are taking care of your health and hope for your understanding and support. We look forward to your cooperation and strict adherence to above provisions to ensure a healthy and safe environment for you and our staff.
